On a recent getaway to New Orleans we visited all of the Audubon attractions, The Zoo, Aquarium, Insectarium and Imax. The best advice I can give to help make the experience better is to not go to the zoo in the summer as it is brutally hot! Unless you are going to visit the Cool Zoo all day.

The National Aquarium at Baltimore is a fantastic aquarium, it ranks in the top on my list. Not quite the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, but it is a great place nonetheless. It has a really nice layout where you wander up ramps to the numerous levels of exhibits.

It started out pretty chilly and cloudy but became a perfect weather day for the zoo as a hot day can be brutal because this zoo is hilly! As a side trek on our way home from South Florida we ventured over to the Sarasota coastline and headed north. And just a few miles north of Sarasota Beaches is Longboat Key and situated on the island is the Mote Aquarium. What it lacked in size it made up for in location. It was right on the shores of beautiful turquoise water and tucked in amongst lush green vegetation.

Well Deal Island always has a way to melt away stress. Just coming over the harbor bridge you feel a deep breath inhale and exhale out the stress. It was no different this time. The dogs were ready to get out and explore the farm. They chased chickens, met Pony, Jack kissed a llama, and they eat deer poop, and just created chaos on the farm. I am excited to be here, I always manage to capture wonderful photos for my collection.
